Forgeborn Privacy Policy

Forgeborn ("we", "our", "the app") is a gamified personal development tracker. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Data stored locally on your device:

Your player name, avatar selection, and game preferences
Quest completions, XP earned, streak data, and achievement progress
Daily notes you write within the app
Notification preferences and scheduling times

Data stored in the cloud (when you create an account):

Email address (for authentication)
Player profile (name, level, XP total) for leaderboard functionality
Friend connections and challenge data

We do not collect: location data, contacts, browsing history, financial information, health data, or advertising identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide the core app experience (tracking quests, calculating XP, maintaining streaks)
To display your profile on leaderboards (only if you opt in by creating an account)
To enable friend connections and challenges (only with your explicit action)
To send you quest reminders and streak notifications (with your permission)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is never used for advertising purposes.

If you create an account, your public profile (player name, level, XP) is visible to other Forgeborn users on the leaderboard. Your email address is never displayed publicly.

4. Data Storage & Security

Local data is stored on your device using SQLite encryption. Cloud data (if you create an account) is stored on Supabase servers with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3).

5. Push Notifications

Forgeborn may send push notifications for quest reminders, streak warnings, and weekly reports. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app.

6. Your Rights

Access: View all your data within the app (Profile > Stats)
Delete: Reset all data at any time (Profile > Reset All Data)
Export: Your data can be exported from the app
Account deletion: If you create an account, you can delete it and all associated cloud data

7. Children's Privacy

Forgeborn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Analytics

We may use anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand app usage patterns and improve the experience. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
